The parts must be made at very high tolerances so they will fit together perfectly allowing for the chemical bonding process to work. Each part is heat treated separately, as Beta Ti and Hypersteel require different heat treat methods. This new proprietary chemical bonding method is the first known method of bonding titanium to steel in a strong enough fashion as to not separate upon impact of a golf ball. A secret chemical bonding agent is added to both parts. The parts are pressed together and vacuum heat cured which melds the two parts together permanently and without any heavy weld material. This technology not only allows the two dissimilar metals to be bonded together, but also is the secret behind the impact sound these fairways provide - the crisp powerful sound and feel of a titanium driver with a super deep cg point provided by the heavier steel body. The ultra light Ti cup face allows 50-grams more weight to be shifted to the rear skirt and sole to enhance perimeter weighting but especially to greatly deepen the center of gravity.
